SOURCE: idles to fast

I would look for a vacuum leak. If you stand outside the car with the hood open while the car is running you might be able to hear which vacuum hose is leaking. Considering the age of that car I would have a very good look at any vacuum hose or the hose going to the power brake booster (if the truck has power brakes)

1995 gmc sierra 1500 automatic transmission idles fast, and late shifts

Do you have a service engine light on? If so the first thing to do would be to check for what codes may be stored.
You can also check for vacuum leaks. A good place for a leak is the TB base gasket. Those start to leak and give a fast idle.
As for the late shifts, just about all you can do is check fluid level. The shifts are computer controled. 93+ trucks have the 4L60E. Not even a TV cable to check adjustment on.
Fix the fast idle and the late shifts issue may go away.

I have a 97 ranger(2.3)When I use the heat or defrost the engine starts revving up high.It goes back to normal as soon as I turn off the heat.

the engine computer is rasing the idle speed when ever the a/c compressor starts to operate. So it is adding too much air and therefore fuel. The duty cycle of the fast idle solenoid or compensator is off. Check the idle air controls.

Bronco idles to fast and now will not shift to drive

well the fast idle is most likely caused by a leaking upper intake runner base gasket, this high idle may be related to the trans no engaging, fix the idle problem by remove the upper intake runners and installing a new base gasket and keep your fingers crossed
