Front camshaft seal gets fuky after 400,000miles. First symptom is oil leak. Bearing goes next. If it goes out while youre driving, engine is toast. I recommend replacing seals, bearing, and oilpump. Get a cool sleeve from toyota. Everything else can be regular autoparts store reman. Good luck and godspeed.??

I've had the same problem with my 22r.
I just put silicone gasket ( the stuff you get in the tube for automotive) on top of the o-ring.
It added an extra seal plus also hold the o-ring in place when putting the oil pump back on.
Never had a problem with the oil pump after that.

How do you replace oil seal on 1992 Toyota pickup

You likely need a valve cover gasket, to confirm this is the leak clean the engine with a pressure washer and then drive it, if the cover is the leak tighten down the retaining bolts first, the gasket gets flattened and leaks, this works one time in most cases on this engine.

How to start a 20r carberated engine

What the devil is a 20r ! if you mean you have an older normally aspirated engine and you wish to fire it....spray some neat fuel directly into carb with the filter off....this should at very least turn it over so it draws fuel for normal delivery to jets in carb !! DO NOT PUT A LOT OF FUEL DIRECTLY INTO THE CARB....BE CAUTIOUS.

I dont know where the oil pump is on my 89 toyota

On a 22RE the oil pump is on the timing cover behind the crank pulley/harmonic balancer,it has the crank timing pointer built onto it,generally they don't leak around the pump seal but as Monster80 pointed out they leak from the front main seal wich is installed on the front of the oil pump, pretty common for the 22R/RE to leak around the timing cover gaskets or out the bolt holes on the timing cover also, usually due to uneven tourqe on the bolts,to check the front main seal you need to look at the the crank from the underside right after you've shut the motor down,if the seals bad you'll see oil starting to form a drop on the backside of the pulley or the front of the oil pump housing.

Clogged fuel line... maybe fuel filter clogged. Air compressor can clear line. Blow out the line coming in to the carb from the tank.
