check if the condition occurs when you have your foot on the brake at stop signs-stop lights. It may be an air leak in the brake booster that is allowing air into the manifold and altering the mixture to lean.
go to your local auto parts store and they should have a scanner but it sounds like eather the Throttle Position Sensor or one of the O2 (oxygen Sensors)
yoiu have a vacuum leak somewhere most likeley arond an injector . run the engine and lightly spray the injectors with brakecleaner if the idle changes bingo you found the leak
check around in the engine compartment to see if there is any vacuum hose loose or broke. you can hear the hissing sound if there is a broken vacuum hose.
it could also be your idle air control valve
