Replacing passenger window in 1998 Honda Accord LX

I have a 4 door 1998 Honda Accord LX and the front passenger window has shattered. Honda wants $200 for the glass and $200 to install it. Can I replace the glass myself? I have plenty of tools and I am mechanically inclined - I just need a little help. Thanks!

same problem, but it's a '91 Honda Accord DX....I figure you have to take the door panel off first, so I did that; follow instructions at:http://autorepair.about.com/cs/faqs/l/bl...
Problem is now I am trying to get to the casing that controls the window.

Yes you can replace it, more than likely I would try getting a replacement window from your local import salvage yard. you will need to remove the door panel screws (normally in the small pull compartment to close the door) and one in the latch, both have a plastic cap that needs to be pried up, it is also connected to the screw or bolt. next, you will need a flat blade screw driver or flat pry bar to take off the panel, start at the bottom. it should just pop out (loud snapping noise). In addition, there is a triangular shaped black plastic cap in the corner, that will also pry off. You will need to unplug the window and door lock connector, carefully remove the lining, you should be able to gain access to the two bolts that hold the window in place. you might have to raise or lower the door till you see them in the removal holes, should be a 10 mm socket. After you loosen remove old glass and install new one and re assemble as you have taken apart, Good Luck!!

Should be no problem. A glass shop should have it in stock. If not, the local junk yard should have it. I use www.haprecycling.com for things like that.

I have a 2001 Honda Accord Lx. I am having

This is something you have to remove the door panel to before you can say what it is. But I don't advise a DIYer doing it because its a little tricky. I recommend taking it to a body shop . They do this stuff in their sleep let them deal with it. If you try it and mess up then you have no door lock. This is not a big repair.

How do you replace the power window motor on passenger door 1995 honda accord lx

That involves removing the door panel completely to allow access. If you are handy you can figure it out by looking at it. Would take too long to explain. Best bet if you aren't very mechanically inclined is to take it to a local repair shop. I had a 2 door 1994 and went through 5 of them.
