SOURCE: voltage irregularity

Well that's ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE, the voltage regulator is in the ALTERNATOR. This vehicle needs an alternator and that should take care of this problem. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

SOURCE: What is the expected output of a alternator in a

You shoulld expect more than 12.8 volts from the alternator up to nearly 14 volts when charging a low battery. The battery can only show the amount of voltage your alternator is sending to it after being used for a while. I would suggest that you have the battery tested & recharged completely, your voltage will be above 12 volts and if it returns to below that , you will know your alternator is not charging. Also, if you test the output of the alternator and see it is below 12 volts after the battery is fully charged at 12+ volts you will have confimed the problem also.

good luck.

SOURCE: Alternator light on dash is on, but very dim.

the alternator is supposed to put out at least 14 to 14.3 volts when running, at least 13 volts at battery when it is off. if the battery voltage while running is 11.9, then the regulater in alternater is bad.

Battery light on alternator wasn't charging above 12 volts checked at battery. Replaced alternator, then battery light still on.

Get a different alternator. 13.5 volts is too low. It needs to be 14 to 14.5 volts. The other battery is over charged.

The altenator is not keeping the charge to the batery....besides the fuse panel in the passager side is there 1 under the hood or another in another location?

Have you changed the alternator. The alternator may not be putting out enough of volts to keep the battery charged, also the alternator could be charging but the battery could have dead cells. What or if any parts have you replaced. Also what does the charge indicator on the gauge cluster indicate and do you have a battery light flashing on the cluster panel.
