you probably need to check your powersteering fluid. if it is low, try adding some, if it is full you need to replace the pump. Mine has went out in similar circumstances.
the low fluid got too low now has air in system.
must have leaks?
if yes,
fix leaks and put in all fresh, jeep spec,. P/S fluid then purge the air out as the FSM manual directs.
Have the Power steering fluid checked. If it is low, top it up. if it is empty, then the vehicle will need to be taken to a garage for the power steering system to be bled.
Also have the powersteering belt checked and tightened.
check pump reservoir for fluid level if low add approved fluid this should held with the noise but you need to figure out where fluid went if it is low if fluid is ok you proablly should replace the pump
