Door won't open

I locked my keys in my jeep and the locksmith tried to open it. it almost worked but then just wouldn't move any more. He got in on the drivers side but now the passenger door won't open at all. It won't lock, unlock, or even open now. The key won't do anything. How do I get the door panel off to see what is going on?

The bottom portion will pop off the metal portion of the door.I usually grab the little plastic "christmas trees" with needle nosed pliers and use a large screwdriver as a lever. If you need to go further, you will need to remove arm rest and the inner door handle. The top portion along the window can be freed by hitting it in, and up with the heel of your hand. (in one shot) Most times the connecting rod gets pulled off the latch and pretty likely you can reach it from under the bottom and re-connect it (plastic clip retainer may be broken or found inside bottom of door where it fell.)

Hi. I have 2002 grang cherokee 2,7 T diesel. when I use my remote key all is open but no driver door.but alarm is still armed , when I open the doors alarm sounds exept driver doors . When i turn the...

try this first, make sure all doors are locked. Insert door key in drivers side door lock and turn key left for 3-5 seconds then turn to the right with a little pressure. open door. Insert key in ignition and turn to on ONLY! wait at least 30 seconds, then turn key to start allow to idle for a few minutes. If problem persists, the remote is not functioning properly. contact a locksmith for reprogramming or replacement. A lock shop will be cheaper than the dealer! Hope this helps you!

2006 jeep liberty wrong key was inserted now won't start but turns over any ideas on how to reprogram key for my car?

NOOOOOO! Very easy to solve!!!!!
1.) Lock the car with the original key + remote control.
2.) open the car with the original remote control.
3.) Sit into the car, close ALL doors and windows.
4. Put in the ORIGINAL keys into the ignition and turn it right, until the dasboard lights go on.
5. Wait 10-15 seconds.
6. Take out the keys.
7. Leave the car and lock it with the original remote control.
8. Wait a minute or so.
9. open the car w. the original remote control.
10. Start your car and viola! Will start like a charm.
At least it happened to me with my 2006 cherokee.

IF NOT there is another method, one of these 2 will work!

Try Inserting the correct key in the ignition at least 3 times. Don't turn the key, just insert it-let it sit for 5 seconds and then remove-do this 3-5 times, then insert the key and attempt to start again

Hope it helps, BTW, the anti-theft immobilizer was working.

Below a schematic drawing how the anti-theft immobilizer works, just to give more insight.

Key no longer opens the door of my 2002 camry wagon

I had the same problem with a Toyota truck, either the key is worn or the lock itself is, you can try slightly moving the key back and forth while turning it in the lock. Do not apply too much pressure or you'll risk snapping the key off. to fix the problem completely, I would try having a new key made, if that doesn't work, get new locks, have them keyed to match by a locksmith.

Door key system won't work and i locked my keys in my car. what can i do without calling locksmith

you can use the old method of a coat hanger and move it to either pull on the interior handle to open the door or push on the door lock button to unlock.sometimes a police officer can unlock it for you if they are not on a call as a public service, every place is different though.if you have a second key then you can get it to open the door.you can also call a shop to do a service call to unlock the car this will cost you a service call fee.if you have something like roadside assistance(CAA or such)they can do this also.the last thing is you can break a window and send a claim to your insurance company depending on your deductible.

Remote keys wont open vehicle

You can try calling a locksmith and see if they can get in. Locksmiths can use a tool to open the door by catching the rod inside the door frame. The last time I used a lock smith to open a door, it ran about $35.

I suspect once the battery issue has been resolved, you will need to reprogram the key fobs or figure out how to disable the alarm.

A little Costly, But contact a Locksmith to make you a New key from the Door lock or the Glove box lock,"If it's the same key"

Cost could be up to $150, Or as low as $45 an Hour.

Locked keys in 1998 jeep classic

you can get a regular key from the dealer to just open your doors and not start the vehicle. It will cost about $5, but you will need proof of ownership and have a picture id.

Lost keys

Why are you taking out the old one. Check with any good locksmith. If your door key fits the ignition, you can easily remove a door lock cylinder and the locksmith can make you a new key!!! I'm pretty sure to remove your lock you need to turn it with the key in it (but you don't have one)
