Hard to put my 2003 chevy s-10 in gear

Ok i left work in my truck and i got on the highway.  keep in mind that my truck was running and shifting smooth as a whistle when i left work.  i got on the highway then when i was slowing down my truck was hard to shift into any gears so i pulled over to the side of the road.  tried to get it back in first gear and it was hard as hell. any gear for that matter even reverse.  i turned off the truck and looked on underside to see if anything would of came loose to make it do this.  there were no leaks to my knowledge the clutch fluid was full.  so i turned the truck off put it in first then had to start of that way.  then halfway down the highway again it started running and shifting like butter again.  then when i got in the truck the next morning same ordeal with the hard shifting.  what do you think it might be?

SOURCE: tdi clutch pedal pushed all the way down but hard to shift gears

Check your clutch fluid level, sometimes a seperate reservoir (drivers side on firewall), some clutch systems take fluid from the brake system (check brake fluid). If thats ok then the clutch slave may be failing.
If the clutch fluid is low refill it and check for leaks (or just wait till the symptom comes back). If it's happens often then theres a leak in the line or the slave somewhere.

SOURCE: !997 Jetta manual transmission won't shift into gears.

This sounds like it could be a few things. Check the transmission/engine mounts. The linkage could also be a problem by being worn or by the mounts being bad. Could be a bad pressure plate/clutch. These transmissions usually give you some warning first by making noise. Expecially in reverse if they are on there way out. Does it go into any gear now?

SOURCE: all my gears work fine but i wont go into reverse 1997 jetta

if your trans engages properly in fowards and not into reverarse then you have a worn clutch in the trans and the trans will need to be rebuilt

SOURCE: Can't shift in to first gear only. All other gears are fine.

this is a common issue with the o2j/o2m transmissions. due to miss shifts or loose linkage.

the easiest fix for this is to shift from reverse to 2nd over and over. then try to force it into first gear. it will be very difficult sometimes to do but it will go. once you get it in first it will be very hard to move, but you will just have to keep shifting from first to second over and over and it will begin to loosen up. make sure you are doing this with the engine off.

the second way to do this if the first fails is to have the shift linkage adjusted.

My 2003 Chevy 1500 will not shift past 2nd gear; can't drive on the highway. top speed 35-40 mph. The truck has 96,000 miles on it.

Any service engine light? May be a bad shift solenoid which are located inside the transmission pan.
Check for code(s) and come back with them.

This sounds like a wiring issue, check and make sure the transmission connector is ok, no broken locks on hard shell or bent pins.

Hard Shifting after highway driving (1997 Chevrolet Tahoe)?

The problem sounds like your kick down cable has gone bad. There should be a cable that runs from the transmission to the linkage on the TBI(i'm assuming it is a TBI[Throttle Body Injection]) At the throttle bracket, it is the lowest cable. It should have a little plastic box and you should be able to push on the button and slide the little plastic piece in or out of the box. This will adjust your shift points, being plastic, the cable likes to slip if it gets old. Also if you have book or have access to one it should tell you how to locate and check it but usually you have to replace them once they start to slip, the one I got for my 1992 was only like 28 dollars so it's not to bad just a real pain.
