Your factory tach won't be accurate because a 350 is an 8 cylinder engine. I put a 350 into a Vega, and my speedo was slightly off because of the differences between the ratios as well. I recommend looking for an aftermarket adapter, or a kit if you can't get the cable to connect into the tranny.

i have a 1988 jeep wrangler 6cyl with 5 speed transmission. I was shifting the jeep and it got stuck in third gear. We opened it up and saw that the linkage is aligned and everything is in place. I dont know what is wrong and what to do next. please help ....
It does sound like a vacuum leak. Get a can of WD-40 and start spraying around the carb. It will rev up, and U can pin point the loose vacuum hose, are crack vacuum hose.
Check your spark plugs. Without good spark plugs the ignition won't ignite. Just go look for Jeep spark plugs at like AutoZone and they are real cheap. To change them you will need a long socket wrench to twist them out and change each one.
