To reset the alarm on your Nissan Titan with a Python 7701V alarm system, try the following steps:
Locate the alarm's control module, which is usually located under the dashboard or in the engine compartment. Locate the valet/override switch. Use the valet/override switch to turn off the alarm, which will reset the system. If the above steps do not work, refer to the owner's manual for specific instructions on how to reset the alarm on your particular make and model of vehicle. Note: Some systems may require a code to be entered to reset the alarm, which is usually provided in the owner's manual or can be obtained by contacting the Nissan dealership.
It is used for programing the alarm, it is used to disarm the alarm without the remote, [in case remote is damaged] and it is used to put alarm system into valet mode, [service mode] valet mode is only really needed if the alarm has been programed for passive arming, [alarm arms itself].
Your main use for the valet switch, [if programed for active arming instead of passive arming] is to have a way to disarm the alarm if the remote does not work.
I own a 1998 dodge durango and Keyless entry does not work all the time and sets my alarm off. There is a valet switch which will perminately disarm the alarm, but I a unsure of it;s location under the dash. Can you help me with this.
no valet switch, you will have to replace batteries/keypad to make it work and you CANNOT bypass the system......otherwise whats the point in fitting it??
First you have to know where the valet switch is located. When you locate the switch turn ignition to on position ans flip the switch. the led light for the alarm should stay on STEADY (with out flashing).
You need to first look under the drivers side dash area near the hood release/fuse panel area and see if there is a valet switch. The switch will look like a little toggle or a push switch. After you locate it, turn the ignition switch to the on position(dont start it) and flick the valet to the opposite position it is in now. If done correctly in most cases the red system light will stay a constant instead of off or blinking indicating you are in valet mode. Next try to start the engine. If this doesnt work you need to remove the alarm system and repair the ignition switch wiring or replace the electrical portion of the ignition switch. The aftermarket alarm cuts into the ignition switch wires and bypasses the start circuit through the alarm module. When disarmed the alarm completes the circuit and allows the car to start. Good luck hope this helps and please rate this.
Hi..
Is there 2 options to replace the Battery in your vehicle.
If you Don't have the REMOTE CONTROL.
1-- try to locate the VALET Switch. is used to activate and deactivate the Alarm.
Normally is located Near the Fuse box panel Inside of the car.
and some times on Left kick panel.
If you found the switch. Connect the new Battery and go inside of the car Turn the Key to ON position and Push ( Move the lever up or down) of the VALET switch.
Them try to start.
2-- Just With the BATTERY disconnected .
Go inside of the car And turn the Ignition Key to ON position leave it.
Now connect the Battery and the Alrm will NOT activate.
Go inside and try to start.
And Letme know.
I hope this help on your problem.
Thank you for use fixya...
I had a similar problem. Eventually, I discovered that only the valet key would set the alarm off (The XG300 came with both a driver's key and a valet key. The valet key cannot open the trunk) Perhaps this could help prevent you from setting your alarm off in the future.
