1992 ford crown victoria keeps cutting off...i replaced the fuel

The check engine light popped on and went off...car started to idol high and low and eventually cut off...would start right back up but would cut off again.. if I was constantly driving it would seem to run fine but....when i am instop and go traffic it starts to act up.

1992 crown Victoria. check engine light comes on periodically. when it does the car starts running as if it will cut off. I have to hold the break and press the gas at the same time to keep it crunk.

First find out the code then try to fix.no code you do not know.

1992 ford crown vic working fine, next day no power to fuel pump or cut off switch

Hi Domino, The fuel shut off is powered by the fuel pump relay (which is in the engine compartment fuse block) the fuel pump relay is powered by the EEC power relay(PCM relay) you will have to check for distribution and voltage. I hope this helps!

IF IT IS HOT AT IDLE IT IS LEAKING, JUST THE ENGINE AND LET IT IDLE, WET YOUR FINGERS AND TOUCH THE CAST IRON PART OF THE VALVE NEAR THE BASE.

take it to local auto store and have them read the code to you it will tell you what the problem is

No check engine light

Check engine light comes on now the car idils so low that it makes a putt putt sound then cuts off any solutions?

Sounds like the fuel filter is clogged oe the fuel pump is on its last legs. Have you cheked the fuel pressure?
