I have heard "certainly no more often than 10,000km" and even up to 18-20,000km.

How can every 3 monjths be a useful reply? People drive different amounts. I don't follow.

It's not that it's not helpful - I'm just trying to clear up the uncertainty.

    Thanks

well its useful to know the mileage you drive i agree but normal oil wear is depending the kind of oil you use every 3 months is an idea time change the oil cause a normal wear and tear on a vehicle in 3 months is about 3,500 miles up to 5,000 miles depending on the country you live in but the every 3 months is just an ideal time....sorry if you think this is not helpful

Hi, the best protection would be a synthetic oil such as Royal Purple or Mobile 1 0-40w or 5-30w which is about $9 a quart.

Audi A4 1.9 TDI power steering oil type and capacity

Power steering fluid level checking:
- vehicle stationary
- front wheels in straight ahead position
- engine at normal operating temperature
- remove cap with dipstick from expansion tank and wipe off
- reinstall cap with dipstick and remove again
- fluid level between "min" and "max" markings
- top off with G 002 000 hydraulic oil if necessary
Power steering system capacity is around 1 liter, but it is not necessary to periodic change the hydraulic oil!
If oil level has dropped to the "min" marking, check power steering system, including hoses and lines.
It is not enough simply to top off the hydraulic oil !!!

Audi a4 tdi stiff gearchange worse when hot 1197 model

tandard practice to change the oil on a clutch replacement. Was the replacemmiles it's covered, but it's not sounds like the gearbox oil need changing. You don't say how many miles it has done. Gear box oil is not usually changed in a clutch replacement. Did an Audi garage carry out the rlacement? It could be the cable needs adjusting to allow the clutch to have free movement

IF YOU DON,T KNOW WHERE THE OIL&AIR FILTER ARE.IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR YOU TO TAKE THE CAR TO A LOCAL GARAGE AND GET THE WORK DONE THERE PLUS REPLACE THE OIL.WILL NOT COST MUCH.(GET A PRICE FIRST)..JUST KEEP BACK FROM AUDI DEALERSHIP GARAGES COST TO MUCH MONEY..
