When I am in the vehicle it seems to work properly. I replaced the battery but that did not work. I wonder if there is a problem with the receiver, I have 2 remotes and it is the same with both. I have to be real close to the truck for it to work and some times I have to hold it over the windshield.
That part inside the vehicle is called the BCM and it costs 168 dollars and has to be programmed by a dealer. More Information for ACDELCO 10367690
SOURCE: Reprogram keyless entry
It took me a few attempts to program a new keyless remote for my 2002 Chevy Blazer.
Insert key into ignition but don' turn it yet. While holding down the UNLOCK switch on the door, the trick is to cycle the ignition ON OFF ON OFF as quickly as possible then release the UNLOCK switch. If done correctly the door locks will cycle 1x to acknowledge. Then hold both the unlock and lock buttons down on the remote for about 15 seconds. The locks should cycle again to confirm...Hope this helps.

You don't normally program a keyless entry, that's done for you by the technicians that install that. If the replaced battery doesn't solve the problem, take the battery and the remote to the techies that installed it.
