2008 Hyundai i30 Elite diesel manual

My i30 drops into limp mode as I am driving along. And comes to a stop. I turn it on again and the vehicle returns to normal. There is always plenty of fuel at least 1/4 tank. I did 300km & the tank still said fuel. Next time I did a similar milage it registered 3/4 tank. Any suggestions please. Sometimes the vehicle just stops a I am driving along. Thanks Craig Phillips

SOURCE: Hyundai i30 Diesel automatic won't accelerate above idle at light

DOES THE ENGINE MIL WARNING LIGHT COME ON? WITH OUT MORE INFO YOU NEED TO CHECK MOTOR ON A CODE READER FOR STORED FAULTS, CHECK ALL AIR LINES TO EMMISION CONTROL, , SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE GONE INTO SAFE MODE, A SPLIT OR LEAKING PIPE ON THE INTERCOOLER IS A COMON FAULT ON THESE, IF YOU SWITCH ENGINE OF AND BACK ON QUICKLY WITH MOTOR RUNNING WITH OUT STALLING MOTOR AND IT CLEARS THEN IT IS PROBERLY THE SAFE MODE CUTING IN MEANING A FAULT HAS BEEN SEEN BY PCM

Testimonial: "Thanks.Didn't notice any engine lights came on. I had a problem free day today, but if it happens again will check warnings and PCM computer check"

SOURCE: Hello, There is an intermittent rubbing/scraping

Generally sraping or rubbing noise in the front wheels is due to worn disc pads, you can confirm this by gently applying the brakes when you hear the noise. if stops or gets worse it is likely you need new pads and may be a disc. Your sysmptoms also are an indication that the wheel bearings are worn out and that cuases the disc to rub on the pads,

2011 Hyundai Elantra New transmission but vehicle runs in limp mode intermittently

As my old dad used to say "they must have seen you coming"! Are you, young, female, blonde and cute? :>D

Engine tick is caused by play in the valve lifters and is an easy repair. It may have been the timing chain, but.... "Elantra's new, maintenance-free silent timing chain enhances engine durability while reducing noise." In normal circumstances, tick is not a reason to put in a new engine.

It sounds like your issue is bad connectors to the ECU. They spraying the connectors with electrical switch cleaning spray.

If that doesn't work, you need a good auto electrician with a professional grade scan tool computer to diagnose the issue. These computers can record exactly what happens to put the vehicle into Limp Mode.

How do i adjust my idle speed on a 2009 hyundai i30 diesel.

Look at the throttle cable where it connects to the air horn and moves the shaft that controls the butterfly to let air in the manifold .
Even if it says its not adjustable usually is a small stop screw that you will have some control over how far the air inlet butterfly will come to a stop position .This will control the amount of intake air less air slower idle .
However you may have other issues .

Diagram of a drivetrain

A drivetrain on any powered vehicle is the complete system that makes the vehicle run under its own power. It includes the engine, clutch/torque converter, gearbox, transfer case (for 4wd or awd vehicles) drive shafts, differentials, and axles. You will note that the engine (diesel, gasoline, steam, electric) is only one part of the drivetrain.

2008 Hyundai i30. 2.0 litre petrol. (Elantra selected, since I believe i30 is same basic engine system as the Elantra, and i30 is not a provided option for my model on this forum). Car won't start. Engine...

Interesting problem.. since not US spec. Is there a 'remote keyless (fob)' programmed for this vehicle? That's the only way to DE-arm the immobilizer (anti-theft) feature (based on US specs). Unless you have this key fob (keyless entry remote... which must also be programmed for this vehicle), the only other way is wait 5 minutes with the existing key in the ignition, then it should start (US specs). You will still need to have an 'ACTIVE' keyless remote programmed for this vehicle... otherwise, you'll continue to run into this problem.
