I have been having an issue with my Nissan with the gas mileage. I'm not leaking gas, I'm not running rich, I'm not misfiring, and I'm not getting random RPM spikes.
I can only assume at this point that I have a major sensor changing my Fuel/Air mixture but it isn't tripping the check engine. Being OBD1 I could have plenty of codes being thrown and wouldn't know anything about it.
If anybody has an idea of something to check I would be great-full. My factory 20 mpg highway is doing close to 7 mpg currently.
Hello there
Your car needs a tune up, including the air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs. It's also worth while checking for a faulty/stuck brake caliper, after you've been on a longish drive go around and feel the wheel rims if one is alot more warmer than the rest then you also have a faulty brake caliper.
Hope this helps. Please don't forget to rate me.
Thanks
I've noticed that my car has also gotten horrible gas mileage lately. Thank you for informing me that a tune-up could be the solution to my problem! Is a tune-up something I can perform myself or should I take it in to get it serviced?http://www.fostersautoservice.com

I'll look into what you guys are saying but I just can't bring myself to believing the tune-up is my major problem.
Also, it was warm enough today to have the window down. While driving around the local streets I noticed my brakes are grinding and creating a lot of dust on the rims.
If the tune-up is the culprit then the dragging brakes must be the rest of the problem.
