It may be the brake light switch going bad as the shift interlock works through this switch. Do the brake lights burn when pressing the brake pedal ?

2007 Chevy uplander won't go into park

Hi,

It sounds like the shifter replacement was not installed properly or a non-compatible shift cable. They might need to check your bushings in order to fix this issue. Please have the repair shop that did the replacement check what I've listed.

Thank you.

I got 2003 Chevy Astro cargo van. Engine running but shifter don't move out of park position O

I am not familiar with the model but I am guessing if the gear selector isn't released by applying the footbrake there is a fault that needs troubleshooting.

It is usually a good idea to check in the vehicle handbook - the precise process, any helpful advice and perhaps which fuse to check, if any.

It may be a vacuum leak that is causing the high idle and shifting problem. Check all the vacuum hoses for cracks or to see if any have come unplugged. Hope this helps.
