well the cam sensor is easy, so if it were me i'd try that first-ECM's usually do not go bad, especially selectively. NO codes?

The wire leading to the water outlet is the temperature sensor, you need to repair or replace the wire if this is the one broken.

A new sensor will ofter come with a wire pigtail that you would use for the repair.
