pull the boot inbetween the door and cab back and look for a green or black wire broken in half. its the ground wire, its a common problem on dodge and jeep trucks, if its broken reconnect it with some **** connectorspull the boot inbetween the door and cab back and look for a green or black wire broken in half. its the ground wire, its a common problem on dodge and jeep trucks, if its broken reconnect it with some **** connectors

Thanks for reply, Takes a little tracing back, but sometimes it's the best way when it comes to electrical problems. You did good, and now you know where all your fuses panels etc., are for future. Thanks for reply, Takes a little tracing back, but sometimes it's the best way when it comes to electrical problems. Are you having any other weird electrical problems like, stereo door speaker not working or power window or door lock not working? If you are it may be a bare wire in the door wiring. That is a common problem on 2004 Rams. Normally it is a rear door if it is a quad cab. Short is normally in the boot going from the door to the cab. If not then the problem is probably the dome light switch found on each door. I believe it is in the door handle and each one would have to be tested.
The relay as you would expect to call it is part of the intrument cluster and not very accessible. You have to remove the entire cluster and disassemble it to get at it. This is no joke as I have just finished repairing mine. Same year only a diesel. I checked all the usual suspects: wiring, switches, lock motors, etc. My remote still makes the lights flash and horn honk but door locks were inoperable. No one would sell me this part either so I went home and rebuilt it myself. Now everything works again.
the dome light switches are part of door latches.bring truck to a dodge dealer and on their scan tool they can tell which door latch is not working.i work at a dodge dealer .
I had the same problem with my 2005 dodge ram 3500 and found the wires were being pinched that run through the rubber boot on my right rear door. I had this fixed by dodge but there splice didn't last, so I took some 16ga wire and spliced it into the wire that operates the power door lock on that side and it fixed the problem. Dodge service shop did a sad job of splicing the wires back together by twisting the wires together and tape and wire broke.
