Yes you got it, i always repair these, i cut out the connections and replace, it lasts about a year then they have the same again, rarely i do the passenger side, start with driver then passenger.

start by having the faults read so u know why the light is on but it sounds like it may have sucked in some air, if this is the case keep cranking it, if there is a fuel primer on the engine keep pumping it until u feel fuel going through it
lift the carpet at o/s/f {drivers front footwell} there is two multiblock connecters guarenteed tobe sodden with water disconnect connectors& dry with a hair dryer on low setting hopefully the pins are not corroded reconnect connectors this is aknown fault i have worked with peugeot&citroen for 24 years kind regards alastair
Read the owner's manual! The fuses are all listed in there.. Its just as possible that its an ecu fault or multiplug connector at fault, or the blower motor. Im afraid 307s of this era are notorious for electrical faults...
