SOURCE: lower intake manifold gasket leaking 02 Olds Silhouette

This is basicly a very time consuming job rather than a physically hard one to complete. In order to replace the gasket you must remove the intake plenum, throttle body, and misc. vacuum hoses. The wiring harness connections must also be disconnected. Finally the intake manifold is exposed. The bolts holding the manifold to the block are removed exposing the leaking gasket. After removing the push rods and placing them in the correct order to be replaced the gasket and sealants can be removed. Finally replace everything in reverse order. Be sure to consult a GM manual for correct bolt torch specs. The correct specs for the manifold bolts usually come with the gasket. Make sure to change your oil a few times after this job in case any coolant entered the block. Also, change the thermostat and the oil seal on the distributor half shaft cap while you have everything off. Good Luck

SOURCE: 94 Bravada that stumbles and stalls.. won't start when warm..

Try checking the exhaust flow when someone else is pushing down on the gas petal. The farther the petal gos down, the more exhaust should be coming out. I replaced my catalitic convertor at 44000 miles, it was clogged. I had them install a high flow type.

SOURCE: 99 olds bravada. just replaced fuel pump 2 weeks

Aftermarket fuel pump failure? Try "thepartsladi" store on eBay for low price GM OEM parts. Could also be wiring harness to fuel pump.

I have a 2000 chevy s10 ZR2 4.3L V6. I had just replaced the intake manifold gasket. I went to start it up and have now developed a misfire in cyl 5. I have already put in new plugs and wires. I...

I have a 2001 Chevy s10 that I put an aftermarket air intake on. With high acceleration speeds, the car would lunge and stall. The engine would also quit. You need to make sure that you have no leaks in your intake manifold. If you have leaks in your manifold, your vehical will misfire. Check your air intake manifold by turning on your vehical on and running your hands up and down the air intake. If you feel air coming out, you have a leak. This needs to be corrected. I hope this helps! Please rate 4 thumbs up!

2000 buick century 3.1 how diffucult is it to change intake manifold gaskets for this car ?do the heads come off also?what would the cost be if i took it in for service?it seems to be leaking on the inside...

Is it leaking oil or antifreeze?
If it's oil at this location ,it is most likely the seal on the sealed (not used) distributor hole plug.(an easy fix).
If it's antifreeze it will most likely be the gasket between the head and intake.A little work but not bad.You will have to pull the valve covers and the intake but the heads stay on.

My 2000 Olds Silhouette leaks coolant.

First is to check to see if it's your intake gasket, pull the dip stick and look at the condition of the oil. Look for excessive sludge and milking, look under the oil cap and look in to the valve cover, also pull the PVC valve and look at the condition. Check to see if there is sludge and milking, if there is then you have antifreeze leaking in to you engine crank case which is very bad. The antifreeze is corrosive to the engine bearing and will soon cost you a new engine if there is no indication of antifreeze in your crank case, then it's a leak somewhere else through out your cooling system. If you see the leak from the out side then that's good, it may just be a bad hose clamp that needs to be tightened. If your not sure and want to buy some time, add about 3 table spoon of common kitchen Black Pepper. The black pepper will work it's way throughout the cooling system and will plug up the leak for now and the great thing about pepper is that it will not leave any residue when you flush out the system, not like the radiator stop leaks out in the market. Good luck and keep me posted, it could be the heater hose to the heater core.

Replaced intake gaskets.ran fine before. burns antifreeze now

Sounds like the gasket is not sealing correctly, or you have a cracked head. Did you use a factory gasket from the dealer? If not, this is most likely the reason. Haven't had much luck with the aftermarket stuff working correctly on those.

2000 chevy impala ls - oil spray under hood inline with serpentine belt

You may have a lower intake manifold gasket leak (or a head gasket leak-slightly less probable) the lower intake can leak onto the serpentine belt and fling oil (and/or antifreeze). The lower intake manifold gasket is usually the culprit here. There is much information about changing it if you are inclined to do it yourself. If not, expect around 800 to 1200 to fix at dealer/mechanic. This is usually accompanied by (but not always) oil in the antifreeze, or antifreeze in the oil...

1999 olds alero leaking coolant

problem could be heads bolts . i put new bolts in put a little sealer on them . make sure your bolt holes is clean free from debris. put a lillte sealer on intake gasket on top and bottom where coolants travel. if all was done . drain engine oil in clean container .set it aside. take radiator cap off .you a coolant pressure rise kit .put a pan under oil pan with drain plug still off .pressure your radiator about 10 psi. make sure you have antifreeze in radiator and engine . when you pressure up to 10 psi look under the car if coolant comes out oil pan. you got leaking head gasket. if not .put oil pan plug back on . put oil back in car . check your freeze plugs also.
