Not exactly.
The check gauge warning light is on because the temp gauge is reading hot.
Does the temp gauge read hot as soon as you turn the key switch on, or not until the engine as run for a few minutes ?
If it reads hot without the engine being started, there may be a short in the wiring or the sensor may have failed.

Remove the Positive Battery Terminal, leave the Negative Terminal connected. Wait 30 minutes. Attach the Positive Terminal. Verify temperature settings is around 70 degrees. This procedure has been known to resolve computer settings.

there is one fuse for all the dash gauges, so chances are you have a wiring problem to the gauge sender on the engine or the gauge is defective, which is rare.

Check your ECM fuse. There should be 2 fuses for your ECM. It's the ECM that controls the function of the fuel pump. Good luck friend and it's also common for the wire harness from the frame to the fuel pump to go bad due to corrosion from the bad weather we get in the winter and rainy spring and fall.

First you will need to remove your tension belt from all your pullies. This is usually done finding a pully that provides tension to and takes away from the belt. HINT: It will be one that doesnt have abunch of mechanical part atached behind it. After removing hte belt in the center of the motor about mid ways up there is a pully that has a hose runing behind it. The other end of the hose goes to the radiator. Well where this plugs into the motor is the waterpump. you more than likely will need to remove the pully from the pump. Above is a picture of your pump with the pulley removed. The four bolts in the center are how you disconnect the pulley and the four on the side of the pump are how you disconnect from the motor. Make sure when you get done and all back together to look around the new pump for leaks.
Below is a picture of the pully of and on.
