Ck your alternator output, should be between 13.8 and 14.2 volts, A bad alt will cause the battery to discharge when driving, Once voltage drops to a certain level (9.8 I think ) the ecm starts to shut down causing all kinds of strange problems, like running bad ,trans not shifting right, even the radio ! It happened to me in my 95 chev p/u
Be vary careful I think that it may have a reverse flow water pump. You can install the belt two different ways. Both will work but the wrong way will shorten you engine life a whole lot. Try your local library for a book on you car.
E.C.M control injector pulsation, with key on check for voltage at injector harness, then reverse test light at battery and check for ground at the other wire at injector harness, crank engine ground should have pulsation if none bad E.C.M,good luck, hope this was very helpful.
The serpentine belt is the most common cause for whining sound when accelerating, try to understand if noise is coming from serpentine belt.
Also check power steering belt under steering column, and also the rotor and chain, thei do not make whining noise , but can make noise when accelerating.
I have a Chevy book covering that year. Code12 is the code that flashes to let you know the ECM is working properly and there is no problem. As to the 11 code there is none in the book for that number.
