Helpful Wiring Information when hard wiring your brake control:
Run two wires to the battery:
White - Ground
Black - Power
Blue - Run to Electric Brakes at the Rear Plug
Red - Run to cold side of brake switch off of the brake pedal (using a test light to find the cold side)
Note: Always wire the red wire to the heaviest gauge wire when testing cold side of brake switch.

Were is the tacho wire from engine on a 91 rodeo ute 2.6

ISUSU car maker, now gone from USA for ever like suzuki. and YUGO's
huge trucks yes cars and UTE's now.
are you in Australia,??? must I guess? cars are not the same all over earth.

out side USA< UTE , we call them SUV.

not told at all what's up doc/
1: factor tach dead.
2 aftermarke tach just died.
3 want to add one now, new (not told which to this car.
4 current tach shorted out and all spark is lost.
or what/??????

the 1991, has IP cluster tacho meter and is dead. RPM is dead that it?
if yes this tacho wire goes to some part of the spark system.
and if engine runs ok, does than that signal is ok.
so bad wires or connectors to the IP cluster Tachometer. rear.
or the meter is bad, and ive seen may fail. for caps inside that dead.
capacitors 31 years old tend to fail and dry out from 200f cab temperature in cars parked on the sun, as do many things.
yes I have repaired some , fully dismantled the cluster,.
here is ours back in 1991 rodeo. USA

if the tach short spark ends. no fun that so pull the IP connector and car runs.

Tach problem 2002 trailblazer

Instrument cluster - stepper motor inside that controls gauge . could be the problem , GM instrument cluster gauges stop working all the time . Plus could be other thing's , wiring , module's etc.... Just depends where the tach gauge info. comes from . Hooking up a factory scanner an checking data to the cluster from the PCM/ECM -engine computer . The instrument cluster has a microprocessor inside an it's hooked up to the class 2 serial data buss .
Tachometer
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the engine speed based on the information from the engine control module (ECM). The ECM converts the data from the engine speed sensor to a 2 pulses/engine revolution signal. The IPC uses the engine speed signal circuit (2 pulses/engine revolution) from the ECM in order to calculate the engine speed. If the IPC detects a malfunction in the engine speed signal circuit, the IPC uses the serial data message from the ECM indicating the engine speed.
You may wan't to take it to a qualified repair shop.

My Sonoma 4.3 v6 is having some issues the rpm gauge is jumping at any giving time besides idling would you know why and I couldn't run dynastics

tachos get their signal from the coil or the ignition control module or ECM
check for ;loose / broken wires in the harness or at connections
There will be no fault codes for tachs unless it affects an adjacent sensor
could be a faulty tacho unit (tacho--tachometer--rev gauge --rpm indicator )

Need to know which wire to spice to hook up a sefl installed tachometer.

The factory Tach on the dash uses Instrument Cluster connector pin C13 its a yellow/white wire. Or off the ECM pin #47 (also yellow/white wire) that is the ECM's Tach out signal. Be careful not to wire it wrong it could blow your ECM or TCM computers

I need to know where to wire the green wire to read RPM's for an aftermarket tachometer install on a 1999 chevy s10 with a 2.2l 4cyl.

It is usually to the positive side of the coil - also depends on what type of distributor cap you have, if there is a 3-4 wire plug that goes to the cap, one of them should be marked TACH

How many wires 1 ,3 or 4 and colours on lambda sensor? on most lambda sensors the Black wire is the sender wire but on yours I`m sure its blue ,as for the tacho gauge you need a wiring diagram for the ECU as you need to connect it there or pull the dash clocks out (carefully)

1997 CE Lancer speedometer

i had the same problem on my g/f's 2000 lancer GLXi, (with tacho),
i fixed the problem by putting a jump wire on the back of the instrument cluster,
the fault was in the wiring to the tacho part & i drew up my own wiring diagrams for the cluster unit,
then traced the fault,
looking @ the back of the cluster unit, the top right hand screw for the speedometer,,, follow the track on the circuit-board, there is a link wire UNDER the board (there is a dotted line on top where it goes, i think its the left 1,,, there is 2) this track then goes to the bottom left screw on the tacho,,,
i soldered a small gauge wire from the bottom of the link solder joint (MAKE SURE ITS THE CORRECT LINK, THERE IS 2 SIDE BY SIDE) to the bottom right track on the vertical plug socket (its common pos for the warning lights) this is where the "MIRAGE" & other "CE LANCER" (without tacho) gets its speedometer & gauges power from,

kind regards waz
if anyone needs a photo i will pull out the dash again lol its only 6 screws
