I have a 2000 dodge durango 4.7L, I have a code P0320. What is the code and how do I fix it?
I put in a new crank positioning sensor and it fixed my problem. 42.00 dollars from NAPA. took about 2 hours to change it.
We had the same problem, was told that that the code was for a throttal control sensor. $45 easy repalcement just snapped in no problem for over 6 months now.
I had exactly the same problem but my durango would heat up when i get home.. 20 minutes away from work ..had to find the problem fast i bought a cam sensor took me 5 minutes to install and the engine light turned off ran great for 2 days..light turned on then buckled once very light at fifty mph put still was able to go 70 mph with no problem all the way to work engine light is off.. no problems for 3 days now.. if i fell the light buckle again im going to buy the crank sensor
No crank signal at Pcm. Try replacing the crank sensor. Although a defective cam sensor can cause it to flag a crank code. You might end up replacing the crank and the cam sensors.

hey, im a usa sailor and i have also encountered this problem. how i fixed it.....,
you may be missing a little rod that attatches the handle from the cab to the crankcase. if you have that rod then see if the holes in the levers under the truck have little rubber grommets. these are what holds the rods in place.
if missing :
the rod......contact your nearest auto parts store preferably napa or autozone usually runs about thirty bucks at most
the rubber grommets.......usually any hardware store will have these for only four bucks

If you look down on the radiator, on the left side, there is a larrge hose coming out of the radiator toward the engine. Where the hose ends there is a housing with 2 bolts. The Thermostat is found under that. Remove the 2 bolts an replace the thermostat. Unles your arms are very long and thin, you will probably need to do this from under the car.
Perfect time to flush/fill all coolant. Check and replace any needed hoses/clamps.

I just looked the same code on Dodge talk.com, they are telling me its a ignition/distributor engine speed imput circuit Malfunction. True or false?
Did whoever had this code experience symptoms? I have the code and when it first appears, the engine labors and stalls (but doesn't die). I shut off the engine and restart, code is still there for a few cycles, but engine runs normally.
we have the same problem that just started on our durango today. Where would I find this crank sensor and how could I tell if it was bad?

When I start my 2000 Dodge Durango 4.7 in the morning and go to work my dodge runs normal for the first 5 minutes. Then it bucks and downshifts from overdrive to 3rd gear. If I try to go over 60mph or about 3000RPM the engine bucks. The engine will rev up at a stop sign and sometimes dies. hard to get restarted, then when you leave the stop sign it acts like it is in 2nd or third gear. Tranny seems to slip. I can manually downshift it and then it goes into first. Engine light is on. I get codes P0320 and P0700. Happens everyday. same spot in the road going and coming home from work.
However if I shut it off after running it for a time and let it set for a couple of minutes and then restart it, then it will no longer slip and the tranny shifts normal with no bucking. But the engine will still rev up and dies sometimes at a stop sign. Light still stays on.
It sounded it like it had a huge cam in it. I replaced the sensor. It fixed it.
