I need a diagram of a completely disassembled valve body for a 4l60e automatic transmission to include how many guide clips and their location. i am trying to rebuild and i forget where one goes!
There are a couple sights where I found GREAT info about 4L60E repair!! I'm new to tranny's but because of these sights, my first total rebuild is almost done!!
http://www.compnine.com/largeimg/940419GM04-418.gif is a blow-up schematic of the valve bodies
http://forums.minnesotamud.com/showthread.php?t=3032 is a step-by-step (text and pics) of a total tranny break-down!!
Hope it helps. Let me know!

Just wanted to add that the minnesotamud link for the 4l60e rebuild has changed to

I don't know where you can get a free diagram, but there is a pretty good video on youtube of a guy disassembling the valve body of a 4l60e. Just go to youtube and search for 4l60e.
FYI Take lots of pictures and videos next time. I learned this the hard way !!

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. THIS VIDEO DOESN'T SHOW WHERE TO PUT ALL THE CLIPS!!!! I'M CLIPPED!!!!!
Not sure what you mean by guide clip other than. http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/-osAAOSwzJ...
IF that is the clip your talking about, it pops in on the last slot next to the a/b solinoid, or the 3/2 shift solinoid or the 3/2 pwm tcc solinoid.
There is one more retaining clip that goes over a large solinoid to hold it in place but it has a bolt with it.
here is a good diagramhttps://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/ori...
I SUSPECT your extra clip is the one that goes around the plug that goes in before the force motor pressure solinoid goes in. it shows its placement on the diagram at the top of it and to the left of the force motor. IIts purpose is to hold the actuator feed limit in place. You need to make sure that the clip goes in the slot on the plug
