It is always your suggestion about that problem, what really causing is one of your High tension wires get open, check them one by one on ohm meter, you may not feel the problem causing that shake when you start the engine and run at its idle speed at normal, but running it 6mph the firing power goes a little bit down making the miss fire or poor combustion of one of your cylinder causing that shake, wheel or bushing problem may caused shake, but surely you will feel your steering swiveling left and right, that was the sign of unbalance tire or suspension component problem.

I have no idea what the previous person is trying to tell you but from the description you gave, it is a classic case of tires needing to be balanced. Good luck.

  • Bill Hackett Jun 30, 2014

Vincent is right. I would go one step further. Odds are that the front tires arechoppy, if you feel the tire, especially the out side edges they will feel like they have hiand low spots thich we refer to as choppy.

Add a CommentHave the tires rotated and balanced.Make sure that the tires are all the same size and preferably the same brand. There are wear indicators on the tire which tell the technician to report to the owner or driver that the tires should really be replaced. But having them rotated and balanced should resolve your complaint. Additionally because some places don't maintain their air supply. you could be putting water in the tire while inflateing it. If there is any kind of fluid in the tire, no matter what the technician tries in attempting to balance your tire it can't be done until the fluid is removed from the tire. Flat fixit you can buy at a parts house may seal the tire bumay create a balance problem because it is a fluid whhich isrotating with the tire and canmove about the tire transferig weight frim the sealer from one spot to another. It will get you ouut of a tight spoy in an emergency, but get thr tire fixed professionally.make sure you tell him you put the sealer in the tire, so he can remove it.

Check the ball joints and cv axles this could cause the car to shake violently and most tire stores will check them for you for free.

SOURCE: My montana shakes/vibrates up and

Most likely a tire/wheel balance issue. The weights that are used to balance the tires can sometimes fall off. Generally how far out of balance it is determines when and how bad it will shake. Unfortunately this is not fixable without a tire balancing machine, has to got to a tire shop.

Were the tires rotated or replaced recently? Most major tire shops will check the balance for you at little or no charge if you take it back to the shop where the work was done.

You can also try to identify the problem tire by rotating the front and rear tires one side at a time. For example, if the vibration is coming from the front, swap the front and rear passenger side tires and drive the vehicle again. If the vibration moves to the back it's most likely the (now) passenger side rear tire that's out of balance. If the is no change, try the driver's side tires.

Hope this helps!

Testimonial: "Thank You Wiz. It was the wheel balance that caused the vibration. "

Lexus ES300 Shakes/Vibrates At 45 MPH

Major transmission problem. That's what the flashing Check Engine light means.

If the Check Engine light is on all the time, it means there is a "fault code" stored in the computer. Take it to an auto parts store (like Auto Zone) and ask them to read the codes to see what it says. They should do it for free. If they won't, go to another auto parts store.

Car shakes when 45 mph is reached. Goes away when I take my foot off the gas pedal. Reaccurs at 60 to 65mph. I put wrong ****** fluid in right before this problem started?! Stumped!!

Sounds exactly like a balancing issue. Check condition of tyres (including side walls) and get the wheels balanced. what fluid are you refering to and what's the difference between what you used to what you should've used?
