I replaced the distributor cap and rotor. I forgot t mark the rotor and now it runs very rough and dies.
The rotor cannot be installed wrong. you probably didn't return the cables to their original positions. is your distributor cap marked with a #1 near one of the terminals? your firing order is 1342 so look and see which two cables are placed wrong. depending on which way your rotor spins, the order must be as stated. you will find that only two wires are mixed up because if it is completely wrong it would not start at all.

Its just fouled some plugs again. Need an overhaul. If you just put a valve job on it it will just put more stress on the rings and will need it anyway. Not much you can do except change plugs all the time!
God Bless Greg

You may have to check loose cables or wiring. Inspect the ignition coil, it should be in series with the distributor.

How white? I would get a can of carbcleaner and spray a little here and there around the intake area to see if you have a vacuum leak. If the smoke is real white like the clouds the you may have an internal coolant leak to a cyl.
