SOURCE: I have a 2006 impala. On the highway the dinging
Hi stevie, your Impala probably has a defective sensor, often called a "switch" that senses the oil pressure. The oil light and chime is a result from a false signal from the bad sensor.
But one cannot take a chance. If the sensor is acting properly, and pressure is low, it could really damage your engine to have low oil pressure and oil not pumping properly. Have it checked now. A new sensor should cost about 60 dollars & takes only a few minutes to install.
Good luck. i hope this helps. Please rate me a FixYa.

it will say in your owners manual but i believe you turn your ignition key to the run position not the start. and pump the gas pedal 3 times with in 5 seconds
SOURCE: I have a chevrolet impala 2008 some time gave this
hi,
this simply means the wheels are slipping and the computer is applying the brakes(trac) and reducing the accelerator (eng speed reduced) to try and bring the car back into control. It basically means its time for new tires or rotate the front ones to the back so the wheels slip less...

SOURCE: The "low oil pressure -
It could be. The best is just follow your instruction manual on what type the oil should used on your car. But since your car is has the year 2006, it should use specs. API... SL or SM. The viscosity will has range 5W30 -10W40.
Again don't get be cheated by the newest oil products, The best oil for your car is the one recommended on your manual in many aspects.
