It sounds like your 2000 Suburban with a 5.3 liter engine may be experiencing some engine or transmission issues. The noise you are hearing and the rough idle and jerking when coming to a stop or rolling from a stop without applying throttle could be caused by a variety of factors, including a problem with the ignition system, fuel system, or the transmission itself.
Some potential causes for these symptoms include:
A malfunctioning ignition control module
Faulty spark plugs or ignition wires
A clogged fuel filter
A faulty fuel pump or fuel injectors
A transmission that is low on fluid or has a malfunctioning component
I recommend having a mechanic diagnose the issue in order to determine the root cause of the problem and recommend the necessary repairs. It is important to address any issues with your vehicle as soon as possible to avoid further damage and to ensure your safety while driving.
my truck did that while i was driving on freeway then would backfire i had changed spark plugs and wires and when i did that it made my ignition coil stop working but i just cleaned it off when i dies while driving just throw it in neutral and restart it so you dont have to come to a stop
You could pour a little fuel at the intake. But, in order to know for sure you need to check for correct fuel pressure and volume. Check to see if you have spark at the spark plugs, also. Need to diagnose properly to save from having to buy anything you don't need to buy.
I would try swapping coil #2 with on of the other ones and see if the misfire changes to the other cylinder. If it does you have a bad coil. If it stays on cyl.2 check the spark plug wire or fuel injector.
Hello, this engine has 3 ignition coils on the passenger side cylinder head, each coil fires two spark plugs, the spark plugs on thew other side have plug wires connected to one of the coils on the other side, the #6 cylinder wire connects to the #3 coil, try replacing the spark plug wires
Sounds like misfire. Change spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor , fuel and air filters. Check for oil in spark plug holes. if oil found change valve cover gasket spark plug orings. they can leak oil into spark plug holes and cause misfire.
