Mark your drive shaft coincidenly with the rear axle and tranny. Remove drive shaft. Press out the old u joints and press in the new. You will need a torch for heat and a lot of patience. Have fun!

SOURCE: I can't get u joint out of driveshaft. Please help

You'll want to put it in a vice and heat it up untill the plastic oozes out. Then use a drift to knock out the u-joint one way then pull out the bearing cap and then same thing back the other way.Clean the holes with some emory cloth before installing the new one.

I have a 2003 GMC Yukon SLT 2WD. I am getting a clattering noise while slowing down. The slower I go the slower the clattering. When it first started, it would go away as soon as you press the...

Two possibilities come to mind with his type of noise and they both require attention NOW! To check the vehicle park on a level surface with the vehicle off and in park (you may need help). Slide under the vehicle ahead of the rear tire so you can see the connection of the driveshaft to the rear end. Then rock the vehicle back and forth with the tire and look at the u-joint connection. If the rear end yoke is moving more than the driveshaft the u-joint needs replacing. If the joint is extremely bad you can sometimes grab the driveshaft and wiggle it. If the vehicle rocks back and forth and there is little or no movement in the drive shaft and you hear clunking in the rear end there can be serious trouble in the rear end. Either condition will require some mechanical skill to fix. I hope this helps.

Removing u-joints on the front driveshaft

Get some circlip pliers (or needle nose and a screwdriver), pop out the clips, all four. Now find a socket that fits the end diameter of the u joint. Beat the chap out of it with a hammer. You will see it start to move. Do this on 2 ends next to each other til it forces into the center, pushing the opposite sides cap out of the joint. If it still won't come out, force it back the other way a little and it will slip right out.

HOW DO I REFILL A REAR DIFF ON 0 95 GMC YUKON

Rear differentials theres a plug on the side of the cover in the front side looking from the driveshaft it would be on the passenger side above the ear, stick a 3/8" ratchet head or extention in it and you can turn it out sometimes theyre a lil stuck so tap it with the extention in it to jar it a lil and should come right out, then fill it til it reaches the plug.

2005 gmc seirra vibration around 50 mph

It sounds like a bad U-joint to me. The only way to properly check u-joints is by removing the driveshaft. The joint should move freely, any binding will cause the vibration.

Universal joint needs to be replaced

If you have never done one it isn't real easy. You might want to remove your driveshaft and take it to a shop or a machine shop. If you remove the shaft they won't charge you much to install the joint. I can tell you how to change it with a vice, hammer and some kind of torch if you want to do it yourself.
