89 Wrangler dies with engine running plus turn signals, and radio

I have a 89 jeep wrangler and I cannot use my headlights, turn signals, and stereo at the same time without my electric going crazy and shutting off my engine.

With only the car on and stereo the electric gauge reads about 14. I turn on the head lights and it goes down to 10-11. When all three are on, it goes down to 8 and under then the car starts to shake and dies. There is a brand new 140 amp powermaster alternator and a new red top optima battery.

Thanks for your help!

i changed the battery and altenator in my truck - i get 14.3 volts at the battery when running and when using the accessories. But when i go in the vehicle all of the gauges go down when i turn on the accessories. they about bottom out.i hear the engine noise in my radio when i turn it on. and when i go over a bump all the gauges go crazy at the same time

1990 jeep wrangler turn signals do not flash adequately when headlights are on..?

Is this an optical issusion and the indicators are merely being "flooded " by the wash of light from the headlights. Try a stronger bulb in the indicators or use amber bulbs if not already fitted.

Just changed the 2.5L engine in my 89 jeep wrangler and the engine turns over but won't start it just backfires like the timing is off, but thats not adjustable on this engine. Where did i go wrong?

Have you checked the firing order to make sure the plug wires are in correct order. Sometimes an engine will run but rough if 2 wires are mixed but it could be that there's more than 2 mixed up.
