I have a Suzuki grand vitara 2ltr petrol and have noticed a small amount of water coming from the tail pipe when engine is running, what could be the problem?
It may just be condensation. if its just a few drops at a time, its fine. if its like a stream leaving a wide trail, then you should go to an auto repair shop

Suzuki uses up to 53 different engines world wide. and many diff, diesels depending on your countries smog rules. post location, old post, but i do the unanswered.
Valve covers leaking oil OUT the tail pipe, no way in hell! Valve covers can leak oil onto the exhaust manifold, but there is no way its going to get into the exhaust from there and out the tail pipe.
Bad valve guides and/or valve guide seals would put oil from the top of the head and into the cylinders. That is a far bigger job than just replacing valve cover gaskets.
Don't let the warranty company give you any more of that kind of BS.
Haynes don't cover that engine. I've found a copy of the H25 engine manual which is similar to the H20 engine we have. If you search for SQ416 in google you'll find a copy you can buy or if you're lucky you'll find a free download somewhere like I did!! :-) It has helped me loads.
Check all the bolts and fastenings for the heat shrouds around the exhaust manifold to make sure they are there (and firm). If you can undo them without snapping them, take the shrouds off to check for gravel trapped in that area. It could also be a failing cat converter, but a lot less likely. My next step would be to remove the rocker cover and have a look......
