2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport Turn Signals/Hazzard lights don't work

Last night, for no apparent reason, both the turn signals and the 4-way hazzard lights quick working on my son's 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport. I understand that both systems have a flasher, but would they both go bad at the same time? Also, according the the Advance Auto Parts store site, the same flasher is used for the hazard lights as for the turn signal. Is this correct?

Yes that's correct... you need to replace the flasher unit

I had the same problem with mine. I first replaced the switch on the column, that didn't work. The problem was the flasher. A five dollar relay under the driver side dash. I took the whole bottom of the dash off( real easy a couple of screws) and it was right there on the left. It's a little black box. Mine was taped to the socket. Just make sure you get the right one. Mine was a 5 prong (turn signal, flasher ignition, lights and something else) but they gave me one with 3. Once I figured it all out the whole process should only take about 10 min.

Turn signals dont work but hazzard lights do.

sounds like the directional switch maybe bad (lever on steering column ) if u open the column u can test the wires and see if it is passing current to tail lights have seen these go bad many times in older jeeps

My bmw 318ti turn signals work fine but my hazzard lights don't

Could be a bad relay in the fuse box.
It's the tall black one in the center of the relays.

Turn signals not working --- 2001 Cherokee Limited

Check the flasher under the dash to the left of the steering column. It's got about 8 or 10 wires plugged into it.
