How to replace the oxygen sensor

There are two sensors, one on the exhaust manifold the other on the catalytic converter. The exhaust manifold is the easy one to replace, the other the car needs to be on a lift.

Changing the O2 sensor will improve you gas mileage,

IT IS LOCATED ON THE LEFT END OF THE CYLINDER HEAD (DRIVERS SIDE )

2001 saturn code po500 , b0045, b0040

p0040 is Oxygen sensor signals swapped Bank 1 sensor 1/Bank 2 sensor 1.
p0045 is Turbo/ Supercharger Boost control solenoid circuit open.
p0500 is vehicle speed sensor A.

1999 saturn sl: changed spark plugs and wires. Ran good until warm-up then just chugged along. Catylitic changed 1/12 years ago...won't pass emmission test

Try changing fuel filter ?? i is located on the underbody at the forward edge of the left-side of the fuel tank..

Trouble code p0500

P0500 is Vehicle speed sensor A, Check owners manual for location of sensor. Check the wire harness in the jeneral area of this sensor for any vissible damage. Replace sensor if required. then have the code cleared from the computers memory. Good Luck. From Ernie @ RedDeer, Alberta, Canada.

I have 93 saturn sl and the odometer does not work. the speedometer works and i have replaced the gauge cluster but no luck any idea what it could be?

You might want to consider replacement of the vehicle speed sensor it is located in the transmission usually the end of speedometer cable plugs into it or it could be a separate unit.

Where is the starter located on a 1999 Saturn sl2

All 91-99 Saturns have the same engine block, the starter is on the back of the engine underneath the intake hardware. very difficult to get to.

Coolant temprature sensor location

its on the driver side there is a black and a white wire coming from the connector. its a little difficult to get to.

I DONT KNOW FOR SURE BUT I WOULD REPLACE THE M.A.S. AND THE 02 SENSORS. (IF MONEY IS AN ISSUE TRY CLEANING THE M.A.S FIRST)

The vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is located in the differential area of the transaxle. Also, to replace it should be fairly simple. I wish I could give a better answer exactly where it is at, but I have you the answer straight out of the Haynes manual.

To replace the VSS, disconnect the electrical connector from the VSS. Then remove the retaining bolt and lift the VSS from the Transaxle or simply unscrew the VSS. Installation is the reverse of removal.
