2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5, not starting, making a clicking ticking sound like it wants to turn over but it doesn't, already replaced the starter, so that's not the problem. Had a slight impact, so I'm thinking there's some kind of kill switch that tripped?

Its me again, You might want to have someone check the grounds for the electrical system from motor to body and body to frame. This will cause a similar broblem with the charging system to not allow it to function properly. On the brake issue I am still trying to figure the relationship to what started your problem but to no avail. Do you have the height adjusted air suspension? If so there is a procedure for bleeding the power steering system that has to be done which is lengthy to type. I will do it if this is the case and you do not have a repair manual.

I must say I enjoyed reading your post, you sound very nice. The problem sounds like possibly the C-V joints may need attention. They will cause a vibration and a grinding noise very noticeable at slow speeds. I hope this helps with your situation and hope you have a wonderful day.

check you dont have a split in the corrugated pipe from the maf to the swirl chamber (the big black plastic tank attached to the inlet manifold) or a leak into the intake somewhere, doesnt have to be a small vac tube.
Also you may have a sticking TB butterfly as my learned friend suggested.

There is a locking solenoid under the plastic shroud around you shifter. When you put on your brake the solenoid is supposed to pull back to release the shifter.
The buzzing you are hearing is that solenoid trying to pull back. Going to have to replace it.

Thanks, I will double check all the connections, and pull the new starter back out when my friend comes over so he can try to start it and I can see if the starter engages or not. I will get back to you with an update in a few days, and thank you for taking the time to try and help me! :)
