1999 GMC Yukon turns over but will not start, there is a clicking sound, the check engine light came on the last time it started .

At first I thought maybe I needed a jump start it has been very cold and I tried for awhile to get it started. It sat for 9 hours before I tried the jump start. However even with a jump the battery gauge goes all they way down and there is a clicking sound. I also smell gas.

Why doesn't it crank or start?

Sounds like the immobilizer system is preventing you starting it. This usually requires a main dealer to fix.

This problem you are having sounds like a crankshaft sensor going bad. Do you have a check engine light on, in your dash? Have your computer scanned, and cars computer will tell you what the problem is. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

My 1999 Yukon Denali will just die and won't start

Check if the fuel pump has quit. Do you hear it turn on for a couple of seconds with key in on, not start? Have the fuel pressure checked, or check that gas is getting up to the engine.

I replaced my water pump in my 1999 gmc yukon my check gauge light stayed on and temp gauge stayed over to hot side. can i reset it?

Not exactly.
The check gauge warning light is on because the temp gauge is reading hot.
Does the temp gauge read hot as soon as you turn the key switch on, or not until the engine as run for a few minutes ?
If it reads hot without the engine being started, there may be a short in the wiring or the sensor may have failed.

Why does my service 4 wheeldrive light come on on 99 gmc yukon

I would start by making sure the tire pressure in all the tires are the same and that the tread on the tires have the same amount of tread left. If they are just a little off the Service 4WD light will come on and most of the time that is the problem. Once all 4 tires are equal in pressure and tread wear, it may take a few times of starting, driving around, and shutting the engine off for the light to turn itself off and realize the problem is corrected. Hope this helps but if not, reply and I will keep helping until the problem is fixed.

Check engine light and stalling seems to be slipping out of gear.

You said the check engine light is on. Have you had it scanned? What is the code number?
