Blower motor, cuts out after it runs for a while.

When I run the heater for a while the blower motor starts coming on and off. The lights around the Thermostat controls will flicker and when this happens the power locks won't work, and the dome light won't come on. the 12v plug in is intermittent, and if i get where im going before the lights around the thermostat control stop flickering the lights will stay on when i take my key out but the dome light will not come on and this is when i realized the power locks don't work when this happens

Sounds like the motor speed control is going bad (resistors near the motor) or the motor itself is going bad, maybe bearing in it. Check the resistor control to see if it appears to be melted any.

you have a blower motor resistor/power module causing the problem. drop the glovebox door all the way down look to your right and the back of the plug will be looking at you. remove 2 screws and replace part with new part. be sure before you start to remove the ground wire off the battery.

did the battery check to be good? are the connections on the battery tight and clean? if so you may be getting a bad body control module , it controls power and ground to the systems you are having problems with.also check the ignition switch to see if you are getting power out of it to power the vehicle up.

Heater was working off and on last week, was needed to add water to radiator. Couldn't find where it was leaking, now this week heater blower won't come on... help me please

Probably 2 separate problems, try this turn on the ignition switch turn the blower on high then tap on the blower motor with a hammer if it runs replace the motor, if not check for current at the blower motor plug, if yes replace the motor if no locate the blower motor resistor check for voltage using a test light, if the light lights replace the resistor, if no lite go to the blower switch if no lite there??? Think again about the fuses you checked. I hope this helps, take care.

Why is my heater blower motor not running?

If you got the motor to run, then whatever feeds that motor electricity is the culprit. Check the switch.

Heater blower not working

well it migh be the fuse, blower resistor or the blower motor. was the blower blower noisy when it last ran ? sometimes you can TAP on the motor and it will spark it back to life BUT the motor may take out the blower speed control aka resistor or module. so hear is how i would start my check.. with a 12 volt test light probe. check all of your fuses, then go to the blower motor and check for power threw all speeds but first make sure the motor has a ground signal.
if the motor is bad they are not bad expensive around 40 bucks same goes for the speed control, but a bad motor can wipe out a speed control, and they are a non returnable part.. see how to find control and motor. ho How To Install Replace AC Heater Fan Speed Resistor Chevy Cobalt 05 10... hope this helps, and get it fixed as it's a safety issue, it helps keep the windshield clean and fog free !

The blower on my heater does not always work sometimes it comes on sometimes it does not. If it does not and i go over a bump it will come on. Someone told me it might be the resistor of so where is the...

The blower motor will be on the passenger side up under the dash, held in place with(usually) three machine screws .The resistor block will be close to this location, a series of 5 or 6 wires in a row with a screw at each end. The block itself is about the size of a credit card a you will be able to hold the block up to the light and give it a visual inspection. If you have a meter or can borrow one check each run with the continuity option.I must say that this is a good place to start but I would also be looking for a poor connection as I am working away. wiggle the wiring harness and see if you can get the fan to cut in and out.Good luck and watch your back, its tight under there.

Heater fan does not work and if I go to #4 on the swich it will blow the 30amp fuse in the fuse box.

Hello,

Sounds like you have a short in the system. It sounds like the heater motor might have a short in it.. to check this you will have to take the heater motor out and test it with a battery and some wires.. if it turns the next place to look is the heater resistor. These are located under the hood on the passenger side of the vehicle. You will have to cut an access hole in the plastic cover to access the resistor. These are a pain to get to, and they are pretty common for going bad...

How to uninstall a blower motor on a 1999 GMC Jimmy? Blower motor does not work sometimes but if I beat on the blower motor housing then it will start running.

Yeah if you have to tap on it, then that means the brushes in the motor are worn out and you need to replace it. The blower motor is behind the PCM and Coolant Overflow bottle. If you remove these then it will give you better access to motor. You'll have to cut around housing. There should be a groove already there for you, just make sure you don't cut all the way around it. Once you open it and get the new one installed, you'll have to use caulk to seal where you cut it at.

Heater motor doesn't run.I have replaced both the motor and the heater / AC control module. I have checked the fuse.

Look around on the blower motor box, for some wires going to a connector that is held inside the blower box with a couple of screws. It's the blower motor resistor.

Blower quits intermediately and the driving lights go out

you need to follow your wires from the blower motor and either rewire it or run a new wire to the blower or heater

Heater is dead

My 2000 century heater blower died, dont replace the fan motor until you check with a simple test light to see if the heater fan resistor is bad first,it's only 20 bucks to replace. Its located next to the fan housing up against the firewall. The wires from the fan switch go down to the resistor, check to see if switch has power then check for power down at the resistor,I'll bet its the resistor. There are three, I think five sixteenth screws to remove the resistor one is crammed up very tight on the firewall, you'll need a quarter inch drive extension with a wobbly socket to get that one against the firewall.
