1995 honda accord speedometer and odometer not working

Before. Once i turn the car on, speedometer goes up 19km/hr and stays there. When the speedometer stays at 19km/hr, the odometer doesnt work. While driving, sometimes speedometer goes back to 0 and bounce back to the speed of the vehicle, and odometer starts to work too. Now, it doesnt work at all both speedometer and odometer. Even if the speedometer goes back to 0, it wont bounce back to the speed of the vehicle

Sounds like either your speedometer cable, your nylon gear on the side of the tranny where the cable ties in, or the odometer itself is shot. One of those three will set you straight. If you are able, remove the cluster, take the cable off the back, and pull it out of the sheath. You will see if its broken or not from there. If not, slide it back into the sheath, then you have to find out where the sheath meets the tranny, and pull it off of there. Then, you can get someone else to watch the speedo as you turn the cable from the bottom. If it works, great, if not, then its your cluster/odometer/speedo. If it does work, the small gear in the transmission is shot.

My odometer on my 1995 Honda is bad. When I turn the key on, the speed dial goes to 20 mph. After starting the car the dial continues to stay at 20 mph. There have been a few times that the dial worked...

Might be your vss (vehicle speed sensor) giving you an erratic number. If this is not the case, then the electronics part of your od. has probably went haywire and needs to be replaced.

Speedometer not working on my 1995 honda accord

It should have a speed sensor on the side of the transmission where the speedo cable used to go. If the odometer and speedometer both do not work, I would check that sensor first.

My odometer stopped working in my accord. The speedometer still works, i thought these would be on the same cable but why then would one still work? Is this a cable problem?

This usually means the dash cluster is faulty and will need replaced. But that is if you really need the odometer they are expensive.

My accord speedometer stays in 20 m/hr when its running

It might be the part that goes directly to the transmission. Its right under the speed censor. It has two hoses attached to it, and three 10mm bolts. To remove it, first remove the cable attached to the speed sensor, then remove the two hoses (power steering fluid will spill), remove the three bolt, After that's off, you have to wiggle it out, which might be really hard because sometimes it comes out easy and sometimes it doesn't. This piece has a gear at the bottom that could have worn out, and replacing the top part alone might not solve the problem. Hope this helps, good luck.

P.S. when this is out, you cant drive the car.

I have a 1994 Honda Accord LX sedan and the speedometer just stopped working. My mechanic just put in a transmission that he bought from a junk yard. How do i fix this problem?

I have a 99 accord and my speedometer and odometer did not work. The problem was the VSS vehicle speed sensor. The VSS is located on the transmission. Once I replaced it everything worked fine.

1995 Honda Accord LX -- odometer failure

Has the speedometer failed to?? if so, you are probably in need of the cable that runs from your transmission to the back of the speedometer. This item is called the speedometer cable. If just the odometer itself failed then you have to pull the cluster and have it serviced typically i take mine to the dealer if that happens. (just the cluster, not the whole car.) hope this helps.
