Please help... My friend just spent a bunch of money on a car that wasn't worth it. I want to replace the front windshield for her. I can get the glass for $50. What else do I need and how do I do it? We got it passed on smog and brake and light check, but it leaks oil. should she just add oil once a week or try replacing the valve cover gasket?? Thanks!!
Replacing the windshield is a job best left to a experienced glass tech. the windshield is held in with urethane and has to be applied properly, the windshield is a big part of the vehicles structural strength in the event of an accident. sorry I know you didn't want to hear that but your friends safety should come first. ( if you already have the glass check around and see if a glass shop will install it for you or if a tech will do it on the side.)

That's too bad that your friend's car is having so many problems and also needs to get a new windshield. My car just has a really big scratch across the driver's side of the windshield. It's a really tricky thing to replace, I think. So, we would probably both be better off, in the long run, finding an auto glass place to replace them.http://www.genuineautoglass.com/
