I have lost the key that was given to me when i bought my jeep (1995 jeep grand cherokee laredo). i was only given one key when it was purchased. i have went to two different jeep dealers who have both made a new key using the vin and neither one of them work. they will not unlock the doors from the outside and will not even turn the ignition switch the entire way and then the key also gets stuck in the ignition. if you can help please email me at [email protected]

battery terminals clean or ignored?
This sounds like a bad chip in the key, try a spare key, if it starts with spare key then key is bad, if it doesnt start then you will need reprograming
There is a broken wire in the rubber casing between the door and the vehicle. Take the rubber casing off and you will more than likely find a broken wire or one about to break. Been there and done that.
