My 1998 hyundai excel glx has a clicking sound front left wheel when turning

My 1998 hyundai excel has a clicking/creaking sound coming from left hand wheel when turning, this happens mainly when turning right and seems to be more evident when taking off from a standing start. The faster I take off the worse the noise. Any ideas as what this might be?

Clciking can aslo be a lose hubcap. Do you have hubcaps, if so swap the L & R and see if the sound is still there.

All front wheel dives rely on the same technology basically. Wear often becomes evident on the ends of the drive shaft at the road wheel end. nTo test if this is the problem. put the wheel mon a full mlock if it ticks it is drive shaft and if it gives a humming sound it will be wheel mbearings. In addition if you drive on full lock right and get nthe ticking or creaking it is drive shaft and if youy drive full left lock and get the noise it will probably be wheel bearings. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Creaking sound while turning steering wheel

There's a chance that the ball joints need grease. This should help, however once they have started to make noise like that due to lack of grease, they usually have gone bad. Replacement may be the only remedy. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1998 Ford Mondeo GLX, loud humming sound, front driver side.

Most likely it's a wheel bearing going out.., If you turn to the right, or the left when driving the noise will change pitch. Been there done that.....

When replacing an exterior right hand door handle for a 1996 Hyundai Excel GLX do you need to have a new key to open

Did it come with the lock assembly ? It should just be the handle. If it is your existing lock will be used and your key will still fit.

Bad shuddering through steering wheel and break pedal when breaking at speed on a hyundia excel 1998

firstly, your tyres may be out of balance, go to your local tyre shop and get them rebalanced .... if this doesn't solve your problem check your front wheel bearings .......... a: Make sure car is in P with handbrake on b: jack up on of your front wheels only about 1 inch off the ground c: grab hold of the top of the wheel with one hand and the bottom with the other and apply pressure simultaneously from each hand , taking notice of any excessive movement This will indicate if your bearing is loose , if it is loose then it will require repacking with grease and re tightening . Hope this helps Jason

Creaking sound while turning steering wheel

i'll bet this is a front wheel drive or four wheel drive. when the front wheels are tied to the drive train. the front axle shafts bearings can go kaput. jack up the vehicle and turn the steering wheel all the way to one side and spin one tire at a time by hand. you are bound to hear snaping and cracking coming from the axle shafts.
