Battery warning light

I recently got up early one cold day and started my 2004 GMC Canyon crew cab SLE to go to work. I owned the truck about a year,to my surprise I got the Battery warning light on my dash board. I took the truck to a reliable battery warehouse and had the battery replaced with the correct replacement. A few days to a week went by and I thought I had the problem licked. but low and behold about 3 weeks after I got the battery replaced I got the battery warning light again. As of this writing, I have not had time to return to the battery place and do a follow up. The warning light does not come on every time I start the truck but it does so every now and then. Does something need reset? is there a additional problem I am unaware of? or can the new battery be defective? is it the alternator? Can you give me some quick insight into a probable cause? in the intrem, I will have it checked once again by the battery place.Thank You. i have a 2004 canyon my battery light comes on and after a little while the truck dies. i have had the alternater checked and it was fine and i put a new battery in it and it still does it what can i do

There is no reset for the light, the light is there for when your charging system is not working properly. you need to have your altinator checked, that will cause the battery light to come on

Where is the cabin filter on a sierra 2004 gmc sle crew cab truck

The 04 SIERRA is behind a panel with 4 screws under the glove box...Remove the screws and cover and slide it out. There is actually 2 in there and it is easy once the cover is off.

Usually there are extremely detailed instructions that come with the new filter when you open the box...Follow these instructions it shouldn't be too hard.

2004 GMC Canyon 3.5L crew cab with Maint Req'd light

It may be true that the dealer told him that, however I doubt the truck rolled off the assembly line like that. I also doubt GM put that light there for no reason. There is a reason it came on and if it was me I would want to know.

Battery warning light

I am 99% sure it is the alternator. They are called throw away alternators because dealers are not supposed to rebuild them however I worked at a dealership for over 20 years and rebuilt 100's or more. If you know where an alternator/starter shop is, that would probably be the cheapest way to go instead of buying one.
