2000 Kia Sportage. Turns over but won't start. This happened right after I bought it and the dealer said it was timing, new timing belt fixed the problem for 6 months. Mechanic replaced 2 relays and it worked for about 6 months. Again replaced relays and for 6 months was ok. Now KIA dealership said fuel pump (only 34 psi). Replaced fuel pump and relays and it still won't start. I am ready to torch car. No codes show up when tested. I noticed the car sputtering on take off before this happens. Check Engine light on also. HELP!!!!!!

There maybe an air lock in the fuel line. Try pouring a little fuel down the carby and then start the engine, you may need to do this a few times until the air lock is cleared.
Hello...get the vehicle back to the shop that worked on it....Sounds to me like one or more of the calipers won't release it's grip when you release the brake pedal or the master cylinder is locked...Think about it...it's like driving with your foot on the brake pedal....or maybe your power brake booster...anyway...Get it back to the shop that worked on it and bring your receipts for all the work done...Let me know what happens...I hope this was helpful...PEACE........
The car needs checked for codes the ingtion is more likly than fuel on this car Does it start right back up or do you have to wait awhile for it to start? The crank senser and the ingtion module and the coil are the causes and if it stalls adding fuel to the air intake should start it right back up. if its fuel or filter related how long does it run if less than a minute the filter is possible but if it has to run for awhile then the filter and the new fuel pump aren't whats wrong. if it starts right back up every time, wiggle the key switch as it tries to stall and if you can chatch it the switch can be bad and it happens alot.
It sounds like your CV joints, on the outsides of the front axles, are binding up. You might end up having to replace them. A small piece of advise, drive about a mile or so once a month in 4WD, that will help prevent this from happening again.
Did you have your car checked by a mechanic/dealer? Did they scanned it and found the fault being the Idle control valve? If this is the case then we'll just have to wait for the new part to be fitted to the vehicle. Cheers
