I replaced the water pump and thermostat. The vehicle still runs hot and displays "transmission over temp" message on dash. What does this mean ?
Automatic box is cooled by the radiator as on the side is two oil pipes from the gearbox so this would cause the oil to run hot if the engine is running hot ,the cause here could be anything and everything from a weak fuel/air mixture to the thermostat in back to front ,low oil level in fact anything and i would need my head under the bonnet to work out whats wrong so i would advise you ask a local mechanic to have a look for you .

your clutch on cooling fan could be faulty or your radiators cores is blocked and restricted.also grilled could be blocked restricting air flow.

It cant hurt to check your spare. It may need a bit more air.

Could be several things,
1. thermostat
2. water pump
3. fan motor is bad (is the fan running when at temp?)
4. fan motor relay
Is it running hot all the time or just when setting idle?
