SOURCE: 2005 buick regal - where to put power steering

You will find the power steering pump at the front of the engine, ( that is to say where the belts are ). It is a black plastic knob with a dip stick attached. Remove it, wipe it and reinsert it with the engine off. Remove it again and note the level on the level indicator on the stick. Use only GM fluids. If you still can't find it then think backwards..There are ony so many things that you can fill under the hood. Engin oil, Transmission fluid, Windshield washer fluid, brake fluid. If you find all of them pretty much the only on let is steering fluid.

95 Buick Regal .it makes a knocking noise when running, but when I take belt off it stops.I replaced the water pump and it still knocks.

Said "knock" could be in the AC compressor or power steering unit since it don't knock with belt off.

Battery light and abs light on hard to steer overheating

sounds like you either lost your fan belt, or you have a seized up alternator, or belt tensioner. The fan belt [ drive belt ] turns the alternator to charge the battery, the power steering pump to make easy steering , and the water pump cooling your engine. Do you smell rubber burning? hear a squealing noise? or rattling noise. Open your engine bonnet, start the car up, and look at the drive belt and pulleys. They should all be turning. If this is the problem you will see something seized up. Also if you have let the power steering pump run out of oil, it may also be seized. Good luck with it

High pitched sound just started. It goes REEEEEE!!

It sounds like your power steering pump as you said, but I would start with changing the main drive belt. I have come across this same problem before. If you change out the belt and you still have this problem, remove the belt and start the engine. Turn the wheels left and right and listen for the noise. If the noise is gone then put the belt back on and check again. If the noise comes back then you have a component problem. I have seen the belt tensioner to make noises as you describe. I hope this helps you. Let me know if this is helpful to you.

Loud groaning noise while turning left

Hi

The groaning noise is the power steer pump operating under duress. I would suggest having the front suspension checked for any seized or failing ball joints or control arm problems. Most suspension guys will give the undercarriage a look over for you for free to check for any failing/unsafe parts. The engine belt driving the power steer pump should also be checked in case it needs adjustment.
