2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee - problem with power windows/locks

OK, this is weird. When I turn the headlights on in my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee the dash lights dim to their lowest setting. The courtesy lights, power windows and power door locks do not work. If I turn the lights off, everything works fine. I'm stumped... HELP!!!!

I have the exact same problem as of last night. When turning on the head lights, the interior lights go to the dimmest level. The power locks and windows do not work at anytime. The interior light control can be used to control the level of light for the dashboard and radio but the interior lights are on.

This seems to be the affects of a bad dinamo charging your battery . If you take a appart the dinamo you should fine a part called in mechanic terms "the bones" they look like 2 black magnets with a wire coming out of them . They are not expencive and you should not change your dinamo untill you try this first a car dinamo is very expencive .

Rear light and brakelight don't work when headlights are turned on 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

My first guess would be a ground problem.
The headlights and tail lights are controlled by the same headlight switch, but the brake lights are on a totally different circuit.
You may have to get a shop manual to get the wiring diagrams needed to troubleshoot the circuits if the ground connections are ok.
The lights involve the body computer and other components.

2004 jeep grand cherokee special edition, windows won't work, doors won't lock (except with key) auto door locks doesn't work either, and dimmer switch for dash whenever turned on all interior lights go on...

sounds like a blown relay and also a blown fuse or two, check the relays under the bonnet and under the dash, you will surely find a broken/worn/burnt out one, replace it (not sure which one it is but they renge from £3/$5 to about £12 - $25 then replace the fuses, if there is no bad relay then just replace any blown fuses - hopefully it's just a worn out relay and not something wrong with the windows or locks that blew the relay in the first place -

2004 grand cherokee jeep power windows and

Check for a 40 amp blown fuse for the BCM this controls those 2 unit. If this checks ok disconnect the BCM module and plug back in this will reset it the BCM is located under the Drivers side kick panel against the firewall. If it work after the BCM reset replace the BCM it will work only temporaraly.

ALL POWER WINDOWS AND LOCKS DO NOT WORK

Check all fuses in fuse panel at dash & also under hood at power distribution box, usually near battery.

04 jeep gc interior lights stay on, power windows, locks not work

Common issue with the early 2000 series Jeep is the window/door lock control on driver side goes dead when the thick guage wires in door become brittle and break from continually opening and closing the door. Had both the ground and hot wires break over the years and both are fixed by making a simple jumper connection with a little extra length added.

Fixing is relativly easy if you know how to crimp wire connectors otherwise you my want someone more experience to help.
Open door, pull back rubber sheath and expose wire harness, unclip the plastic retaining clip and pull out wire harness and located which wire has broken (typically the thick black or orange wire) . Prepare both ends for crimp connector and make a jumper with small peice of heavy guage wire and crimp connector of either end then connect each end to either side of broken wire, tuck wires back in, replace retaining clip and rubber sheath.

You can find videos on youtube showing how to fix

The body control module is the cause of your weird problems. Replace it.
