2004 pontiavc grand am will not start

My battery is good. When I try to start my car, the lights, radio, all accessories, etc work fine so the battery isn't the problem. When I attempt to crank the car, nothing happens. I have read several different ways to reset the passlock (which may be the problem) but would like clariification if resetting the passlock is even a viable solution. I would like to know before I put a new starter on, if that would be the problem, or if it is in fact the passlock system.

Try to reset the passlock first. It's free and won't cost you anything to try. My car did the exact same thing and I didn't see the security light on..I'm not even sure it was on but, reseting the passlock fixed the problem. Look at dvj2a's solution.

Won't start but has radio and lights etc.makes no noise when you try to start it. No previous problems.....has gas..can't think of any thing else...thanks for any help

Hi! First of all please have your battery checked. The lights and radio may be working but may not be enough to turn on the car. If the battery is fine, I believe its gonna be a starter problem. The solenoid may be burnt not giving enough power to turn the flywheel of the car thats why it wont start. Hope this helps and have a good one!

Loud clicking noise in 2004 F-150. Will not turn over or start up. Lights, radio, etc still works

Most likely problem is a low battery. Clicking noise is starter trying to engage.

Car no longer starts

Check battery terminals make sure they are not corroded and that the are tightly secured. If all is good the battery is at fault. Replace battery and then have charging system checked to make sure the alternator is working fine. Or you can remove the battery and have it load tested a t an Auto_zone for free.
