2000 nissan maxima will not start after driving unless I wait an hour or so.

  • Peleke Feb 10, 2009

Same problem, very slow crank starting when engine is hot, but sometimes able to get started. However, after getting started hot, transmission feels like it disengages after driving a few minutes. (high RPM sound, slight grinding noise but car hardly moves) After car cools down, start OK and "disengage" problem does not occur.

Why is my nissan maxima loosing power when driving

This sounds like you may need to change your spark plugs. I am not sure of your fuel of choice, but 93 which is a high octane should work better, and dont for get to warm the engine before driving.

Wont start again after driving

have somene try to start the car while you listen under the hood for the weird sound of something spinning it kinda sound like something griding. sometimes it occurs 2 to 3 seconds after turning the key. if you hear that sound then it's your starter i just had the same problem about a day ago . it's easy to fix i took mine out and had it rebuilt for 55 bucks reinstaled it and it started right up. here's a that will guide you through the repairing process.. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2076435
