I have a small oil drip as noted by 1-2 drops on garage floor each morning. This is a high mileage 143K 5.4L Triton. I check oil regularly and noticed today that it smelled like gasoline when I held my fingers to my nose. Oil may seem to be a bit thin but we are using Ford recommended 5w 30. No obvious leaks around plugs. Any ideas?
Could be 2 problems. Some rear main seals leak with oil flowing out where trans joins engine. You should crawl under vehicle and look directly up from oil leak, If inside garage use a newpaper to catch current drip.
Gassy oil can be leaking fuel injector draining into oil pan. Sometimes dirty fuel injector will stay open and fuel pressure will continue to drain into motor after vehicle is off. Sometimes stuff like seafoam will clean injectors.

my suggestion would be to power wash the engine off and let it dry then run it this will help you isolate where the leak is originating from

your problem is a head gasket youll need to open rad cap run truck rev and see if bubbles come up in rad
