The cigarette lighter in my 2004 Dodge stratus stopped working when I
plugged a charger for a my phone in it. I was wondering if it was maybe
the fuse and how to check that or replace the whole plug if that doesnt
work. Thanks
Hi everyone I am going to answer this question because I had the same problem and could not find any help with it. The cigarette lighter fuse for 2004 dodge stratus sedan is under the hood in the fuse box it is fuse #2 ~20 amp. The owners manual diagram is so small you cant read what the descriptions are...So I hope this helps you all out!!
I would lean towards a fuse being blown. your owners manual should have a diagram of your fuse panel that should tell you what fuse to check to see if blown

Hey,bro I think you're out of fashion now....many smokers have switched to vape an electronic cigarette,No fire No ash, If you get nothing about it,you can find information on ecigadvanced forum and e-cigarette blog, also you can take a look at real e-cig products on joycheapbuy or blucig Wish these would pull you out of cigarette lighter troubles
The lighter base is held on with a threaded sleeve from the back. You would need to get access to the back of the socket to remove it. You can look at a new part to see how the sleeve is attached.
it usually runs on the same fuse as the radio & interior light which is the accessories fuse, if these two things still work you may have another problem with the wiring, you might need to pull the lighter out & check the wiring.....hope this helps.....cheers
The cigarette lighter plug should also work for the phone charger as long as the phone charger uses the cigarette lighter style plug(long with two metal contacts on the sides and a button contact on the tip). Most standard car chargers will fit both cigarette and auxillary style plugs.
Try plugging something else into the lighter socket,,,if it is getting power then you should suspect the phone charger, if it isnt,,then suspect the fuse,,,just open the fuse box cover and you will find the list and description of all the fuses and their locations there.
OK, thanks I will try that !!
